Better Living for Texas agent Heather Simpson presented a program titled “Learn, Grow, Eat and Go” to Iowa Park Garden Club members during their meeting held Friday at the RAC.
New COVID-19 infections in Wichita County dropped to 322 in the past week, the lowest weekly reported number since early October. In contrast, 29 deaths were also reported in the past week.
Iowa Park’s Community Development Corporation’s (4-B) board members voted to spend $89,150 for improvements that will benefit youth in the community, pending approval by the city council and following required public hearings.

In their regular meeting Monday the Iowa Park City Council called for an election on May 1 to elect council members for Place 1, Place 3 and Place 5. Filing began on January 13 and applications for a place on the ballot will be accepted until February 12.
Filing in the May school board and city council elections has gotten off to a slow start. At this time all three incumbents have filed for re-election to the three places on the school board up for election this year. But only one incumbent on the city council has filed for the three seats available on the city council. Filing for applications will continue through February 12.
