EDC (4A) and IDC Boards to meet in joint special session

The board of directors of the Iowa Park Economic Development Corporation (4A) (EDC) will meet in special session, jointly with the board of directors of the Iowa Park Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), at 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Iowa Park Industrial Park located at 0 Industrial Avenue at the intersection of Northwest Access Road. All meetings are open to the public.

Clouser receives flight academy scholarship

America Clouser, a junior Air Force Junior ROTC cadet at Iowa Park High School, part of the AFJROTC TX-20008 unit at Burkburnett High School, has received a scholarship to attend an accredited aviation university participating in a private pilot license training program in the summer of 2021. Originally, Cadet Clouser was selected as an alternate. However, as of Feb. 8, Cadet Clouser received a select slot thereby receiving a flight academy scholarship.

The Wichita County-Wichita Falls Public Health District reported 151 new cases of Covid-19 in the county from February 13 to 23, and nine Covid-related deaths.

CDC (4-B) Board approves $53,961 for parks projects

During their regular meeting Tuesday evening members of the Community Development Corporation (4-B) board held public hearings to determine if improvements to Murphree Park, and Bell Road Ballfields are suitable public park and open space improvements and if a contribution to Iowa Park Optimist Club is suitable as children’s sports venue.
