Wichita County recorded a record 300 new COVID-19 infections Tuesday to bring the past seven-day total to 859, also a record high of weekly infection numbers reported by the Iowa Park Leader.
As COVID-19 infected numbers and hospitalizations began to rise again, Wichita County received it’s first round of vaccine from Pfizer last week, and a shipment of the newly-approved Moderna vaccine is expected to arrive in several places throughout the county this week.
Brandon Lee Jackson was taken into custody for assault family violence and possession of a controlled substance after officers responded to a report of a disturbance.
Electra Hospital District entities are scheduled to receive their first allotment of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine this week and will begin administering to staff members as soon as it arrives.
