The year 2020 in Iowa Park was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced in our lifetime. The novel Coronavirus pandemic swept across the country in the early months, upsetting much of everyday life with the forced closings of many businesses and schools. Iowa Park schools moved to remote learning for the remainder of the year. Athletic and academic activities were cancelled, ending promising seasons by both the baseball and softball teams. The town, and the the country, has slowly reopened but the virus threat is still very much with us. On a brighter note, schools reopened in the fall with a mixture of inclass and remote learning. The football and volleyball teams advanced into the state playoffs, and the Hawk Band continued its long tradition of marching success. New businesses and expansion of others brightened an otherwise challenging year.
