The Iowa Park Hawk baseball team turned in two gems this past week, utilizing good hitting and strong performances from Korvin Lalumia and Ty Cunningham on the mound to defeat both Vernon Friday 9-0, and Graham 10-0 on Tuesday.
Iowa Park High School athletes competed this past week at the District 5-4A Track Meet in Vernon, with the Lady Hawk varsity placing third as a team, and the JV Hawks running away with the district title.
Iowa Park’s second-ranked Lady Hawk softball team clinched the District 5-4A title Thursday with a 10-1 win over Graham, and followed that up Tuesday with a 13-0 win over Mineral Mineral Wells to improve to 9-0 in the conference, 26-2 overall.
Iowa Park’s No. 2 Lady Hawk softball team earned two conference wins this past week over Hirschi and Burkburnett, improving to 24-2 for the season and 7-0 in District 5-4A.
Iowa Park and Vernon have identical 14-6 season records so far in 4A baseball, and now both teams are 6-1 in District 5-4A, thanks to a late surge by the Lions Tuesday to break a 7-7 tie with a 12-7 win.
