2020 Iowa Park graduation now set for June 5

Iowa Park CISD trustees met Thursday in a special called teleconference meeting, with graduation plans tentatively laid out by Superintendent Steve Moody and IPHS Principal Leah Russell.

Tentative opening date for pool set for May 23

The Iowa Park Municipal Swimming Pool and Spray Park is tentatively set to open for the season on Saturday, May 23. However, state guidelines at this time require that public pool operate at up to 25 percent of the total occupancy of the pool facility.

As the State of Texas shifts into the first phase of the Governor’s plan to safely and strategically open Texas while minimizing the spread of COVID-19, the lobby at City Hall at 103 North Wall in Iowa Park, Texas, will remain closed to the public until further notice to protect the health and safety of employees, customers and the general public. The lobby has been closed since March 23rd to allow City employees to socially distance as well as to allow for the frequent cleaning and sanitation of equipment and surfaces. City employees have also been directed to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and follow any medical advice from their physicians.

David Hancock, 31, was taken into custody at 10:26 a.m. - Friday after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Emerald in reference to a possible disturbance. According to the probable cause affidavit adult protective services reported the disturbance and when officers arrived on scene officers observed Hancock and a female. A computer check showed an active protective order out of Colorado in which Hancock was to stay away from locations the female was at. He was taken into custody and transported to Wichita County jail.
