Gov. Abbott lifts mask mandates, increases business capacity to 100%

Tuesday afternoon Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order (GA-34) lifting the mask mandate in Texas and increasing capacity of all businesses and facilities in the state to 100 percent effective at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, March 10.

Well, I guess everybody should issue a huge sigh of relief after Gov. Abbott’s announcement that the state will end its mask mandate on Wednesday, and allow all businesses to return to 100-percent capacity.

County commissioner charged with DWI

Tuesday morning Jeff Watts, an Iowa Park resident and Wichita County Commissioner for Precinct 4, was booked into the Wichita County jail for driving while intoxicated after a one-vehicle accident in his personal vehicle last Thursday on Highway 25, near Electra. He reportedly hit a slick spot on the roadway and slid off the road. He was transported to the Electra Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
