POLICE ACTIVITY

Jonathan Russel Brown, 31, was taken into custody on two Wichita County warrants for driving while intoxicated and bond forfeiture for unlawful possession of a firearm after officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of W. Louisa at 6:59 p.m. Thursday, May 20. He was transported to Wichita County jail.

Graduation ceremonies for the Iowa Park High School graduating class of 2021 will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at Hawk Stadium.

City council moves to annex show barn land

At their meeting on Monday the Iowa Park City Council voted to move forward with the annexation of 6.44 acres on the west side of Johnson Road after receiving a request by the Iowa Park Consolidated School District.

Pool, spray park opens Saturday for 2021 season

The Iowa Park Municipal Pool and Spray Park will open at noon Saturday to kick-off the 2021 swimming season.

THE IOWA PARK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE hosted the first annual Golf Cart Poker Run during Iowa Park’s Annual Parkfest recently. Twenty golf carts participated in raising $770, all benefitting three local charities - Friendly Door Senior Citizens Center, Iowa Park Food Pantry and Hawks Fighting Hunger. Shelby Womack, who chaired the event for the Chamber, presented checks to the organizations this week.
