City denies water request for land outside city limits

Monday night the Iowa Park City Council heard a request from Luther and Tina Nichols for a water tap for residential and livestock use at 1817 Johnson Rd. The 19-acre property is located outside the city limits, but part of the southern property line is adjacent to the city limits. The Nichols said they have cattle on it and intend to build in two years.

Dire warnings on rising COVID-19 cases in county

Local COVID-19 infections are showing no signs of slowing down with 848 new cases reported in Wichita County last week, as well as seven deaths from the disease. There are currently 1,864 active cases in the county.

During a traffic stop at 7:26 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Highway, Rona Bree-Ann Taylor, 36, was charged with manufacture or delivery of substance in penalty group one (methamphetamine) - over four grams under 200 grams; possession of a controlled substance penalty group one to four grams methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance penalty group one (cocaine) - under one gram; tampering with or fabricating physical evidence; and money laundering $2,500 - $30,000.
