Randel Scott Phillips was born January 7, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas and
passed away February 4, 2022 at Hospice of Wichita Falls. He was 64 years of age. A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12 at Kamay Baptist Church. Surviving Randel is his loving mother, Johnette Phillips of Iowa Park, Texas, and a brother, Ricky Phillips and wife Alix, of Gainesville, Texas. His niece, Tiffany Ann Owensby and husband Aaron, and his great niece and nephew, Madilyn and Noah Owensby, of Iowa Park, also survive him. Randel was blessed with a big family that, in turn, meant many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that became family, which will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Austin Phillips and a brother, John Stephen Phillips. Randel graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1976. He attended Texas Tech University. Randel, aka Uncle Randel, Nandel, Rawble, and Ran, was the best Godfather, uncle, cousin and friend there ever was. He loved fiercely and you knew it. He was the fun uncle and cousin that was always ready for a good time but most importantly, he wanted to make sure that everyone around him was happy and well taken care of. He loved sports, all sports! He would travel to the ends of the earth to watch his cousins play…whatever sport was in season. The light of Randel’s life were Madi and Noah. In his eyes, they were perfect and all was right in in his world with Madi and Noah in it. The family request donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls and would like to thank the amazing nurses that delivered endless support and love to Randel.
