      Lawrence W. Lindsey, 84, of Iowa Park passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021.

     The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Fort Sill National Cemetery.

     Lawrence was born on July 4, 1937 in Wichita Falls to the late Lawrence Lee and Ruby Fay (Boyce) Lindsey.  He was a graduate of Wichita Falls Senior High, and attended Midwestern State University where he began his military journey in the ROTC.  Lawrence then joined the United States Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam.  He was decorated with a Bronze Star, and retired as a 1st Sergeant.  He then transitioned to Civil Service at Sheppard Air Force Base, where he also retired after many years of service.  Along with best friends Johnny Shanks and Holland Heston, they were known as the three musketeers throughout life.  Lawrence was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.  You were truly lucky to have him as a friend.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bob Lindsey; and sister Linda Melton.

     Lawrence is survived by sister Jimmie Reagan and husband Ron of Roanoke, Virginia; daughter Christine Criswell of Wichita Falls; son Bill Flatt of Georgia; grandchildren Cory, Courtney, Sydney, Nicholas, and Colin; five great-grandchildren; special niece Stacie Huh of San Antonio, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins; and former wife Peggy Davis.
