Johnny T. Crawford

Johnny T. Crawford, 90, of Wichita Falls passed away Thursday, March 26.

A private family grave side was held Monday, under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Johnny was born on July 25, 1929 in Wichita Falls to the late W. T. and Nannie Ethel Crawford. He served in the United States Navy.

He married June Fortner on Feb. 1, 1949, in San Jose, CA., and the couple was married 71 years. He went to work for his father at the age of 21 at Crawford Painting and Drywall, and continued in the business until his retirement. He was elected as Mayor of Iowa Park in 1976. He enjoyed fishing with his family, and kept busy with various projects. He also enjoyed flying and flew for business trips mostly, then pleasure trips for the family. The couple were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife June; children, Gary Crawford, Kristie Gaines, Jon Crawford and Kay Stevenson Moore; siblings, Dub Crawford, Mary Ann Nolen, Cecilia Miley, Clyde Crawford, Andy Crawford, Jane Styles, and Nancy Pond; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
