Johnny James Carroll

Mr. Johnny James Carroll, age 78, went to meet his Heavenly Father on August 20, 2021. He was born on December 23, 1943, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Jim and Joyce Carroll.

Johnny was a retired over-the-road truck driver who enjoyed his travels across country and loved photographing the beautiful scenery along the way.

He served in the Army Reserves and the U.S. Army in the 1960s.

He was a loving, caring man who loved Jesus and his family and friends. He also loved fishing, photography, Price is Right game show and John Wayne. He loved music and played guitar and sang country songs in his younger years.

He is survived by his son, Terry Carroll of Wichita Falls; his daughter, Joyce (Sissy) Richards of Iowa Park; ex-wife Shirley Ervin of Iowa Park; grandson Billy Carroll and his wife Amanda of Wichita Falls; granddaughter Amanda Tosch of Sparta, Tennessee; grandson Calvin Carroll of West, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; cousin Victor Neel of Iowa Park; and a very special sister-in-law, Doris Evans of Iowa Park.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Jim Carroll of Wichita Falls, mother, Joyce Cary of Modesto California; brothers, Terry Hartman of Idaho, Larry Hartman of Redding, Ca,, Mike Hartman of Albuquerque, N.M.; and infant grandson, Justin Lee Breckel of Wichita fals.

The family wishes to express their deepest love and appreciation to a special nurse, Kaci Kennedy with First Texas Home Health for her wonderful care and concern throughout Johnny’s illness.

And also to Hospice of Wichita Falls for their loving care and kindness until the Lord took him home. A private family memorial service is pending and will be held at a later date.
