John Curtis Springer

     John Curtis Springer, 67 of Iowa Park passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas.

John was born on June 29, 1953 to the late Vincent and Ella (Jones) Springer in Boston, Massachusetts. During his high school years, he participated in sports, including hockey lacrosse and football. After graduating high school, John proudly joined the United States Army and served in Desert Storm. Twenty-six years later he retired as rank First Sgt. While working for the Texas Department of Correction, John met another employee, Brenda Yancey and the couple married on April 29, 2001. As John would always say “We met in prison”. John fully retired in 2009. He like watching movies and all different kinds of sports. John’s favorite was watching Hockey. John and Brenda were members Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He will be missed my many family and friends.

     Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers.

     He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda; son, Victor Springer and wife, GiGi; three daughters, Shree Willett, Tammy Collins and Bridgett Collins; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Phillip Springer and Vincent Springer; and many friends.
