Charles Alfred (C.A.) Barker

Charles Alfred (C.A.) Barker passed away peacefully Monday, February 28, 2022, at home in Iowa Park, Texas.

Rosary and viewing will be held Monday March 7th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8th at Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Burkburnett, Texas officiated by Father Joseph Morino. Interment will follow in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.

C.A. was born on July 20th, 1937, in Wilbarger County, Texas to Conrad Nicholas and Lennie Caroline (Hays) Barker. He grew up with 6 brothers, Ike, Jimmy, Billy, Bobby, Weldon, Alvin, and 1 sister Jeanie.

He married the love of his life Peggy Jean (Dutton) Barker February 25th, 1961. Together they would make a home in Electra, TX raising three boys Dwayne, Curtis, and Jeff or better known as the Barker Boys around town. He started his career at Marcus Ward, he would go on to Floor Covering until his retirement.

C.A. was a true family man, his greatest passion in life. He loved watching his boys play sports, never missing a game. This would follow on to his grandchildren where he rarely missed a game or cheer tournament. C.A. was a man of honor, who worked hard and loved even harder.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Jean (Dutton) Barker of Iowa Park; son Dwayne of Iowa Park and Jeff of Bowie. One brother Jimmy Barker and wife Roberta of Duncan, Oklahoma. Many grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces, and nephews.
