POLICE ACTIVITY
James Robert Gene Dickerson, 30, was taken into custody on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of controlled substance penalty group one, after a traffic stop in the 300 block of W. Poe.
During the traffic stop the driver, Dickerson, told the officer he did not have a valid driver’s license and did not have any identification on him.
The officer asked him to step out of the vehicle for the purpose of gathering his information and show him the reason for the traffic stop. The left tag bulb was hanging down and blocking part of the lettering and the right bulb was not working. The officer asked if he had any pocket knives or other weapons on him and Dickerson stated he did not. The officer asked if he could empty his pockets and Dickerson agreed and began removing items from his pockets. The officer observed a clear baggie with a crystal like substance in it and it fell and landed on his foot. Dickerson was detained. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Dickerson denied any knowledge of the narcotics. He had told the officer about another time he was stopped and asked to step out of a vehicle, he did and happened to be standing by a bag of narcotics.
When the officer arrived at the police department the officer discovered the license plate the dispatch checked was not the license plate on the vehicle. The officer provided the dispatcher with the correct license plate number and a computer check came back that the vehicle was stolen. Dickerson overheard the conversation and he stated the car was not stolen and that the last time he got pulled over the police told him he happened to be driving a stolen car then a well. The vehicle was impounded.
Dickerson was transported to Wichita County jail.
Tuesday, July 19
2:09 p.m. - Reporting party requested to speak with an officer about a possible civil matter. Reporting party advised she is paying contractors to redo her property, but the work isn’t getting done. Officer advised hera it is a civil matter and of her options. 4:38 p.m. - Reporting party requested officers to respond to the 300 block of W. Daisy for a possible burglary of a habitation. Officers searched the property and everything was okay.
11:41 p.m. - Reporting party advised her husband is trying to get her to go outside so he and two of his friends can beat her up in the 200 block of W. Ruby. Officers responded and advised everything was okay. Civil matter.
Wednesday, July 20
2:36 a.m. - Clay County advised they have a stranded vehicle on US 287 in Clay County, registered to a female resident in the 1700 block of Johnson Rd and requested officers do a welfare check. Officers responded. Clay County requested officers do a follow-up regarding an incident.
5:40 a.m. - Reporting party advised her six-year-old daughter sleep-walked out of the house in the 900 block of E. Cash and she could not find her. Child was located in the house.
9:36 p.m. - Officer advised of a motorcycle having mechanical issues at Pacific and US 287 underpass. Officer followed subject home on S. Wall to make sure he made it. Motorcyclist made it home.
Thursday, July 21
12:27 a.m. - Reporting party requested someone call her around 7 or 8 a.m. to make sure she wakes up because she is concerned about her oxygen intake.
1:38 a.m. - Reporting party advised someone is cyber stalking her again. Officer spoke with reporting party and advised her he would check the information she provided. 12:16 p.m. - Wichita County Sheriff’s deputy advised of a possible stolen vehicle heading south on US 287. Officer located the vehicle and a deputy was out with it. Two subjects detained by deputy.
2:02 p.m. - Iowa Park EMTs responded to the 4600 block of Business 287 for a subject attacked by a bull.
2:48 p.m. - Reporting party advised a semi truck sideswiped their car on US 287 at Johnson Rd. and drove off. Wrecker was called to the scene for the vehicle. The case is under investigation.
3:30 p.m. - Dispatch received multiple calls of a subject setting off fireworks in the area of Richland and starting a fire in the 1200 block. Officer responded and spoke with two juveniles and warned them of possible consequences of their actions. 4:38 p.m. - Iowa Park VFD dispatched to the 400 block of W. Poe for a sparking transformer. Oncor responded. 6:33 p.m. - Reporting party requested to speak with an officer about identity theft. Officer spoke with reporting party an requested a case number for fraud.
Friday, July 22
6:31 a.m. - Reporting party advised someone got into her unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of W. Rebecca and stole her gun. Police are investigating the burglary of a vehicle.
6:48 a.m. - Reporting party advised someone got into her unlocked vehicle overnight in the 1300 block of Westridge. Police are investing the burglary of a vehicle.
9:45 a.m. - Reporting party advised of two Pit Bull dogs killed a cat in the 500 block of W. Alameda and are still at large. At 10:01 a.m. dispatch received a second call from the 600 block of W. Washington of a second cat killed and had a man cornered in his truck. Animal control responded and impounded the dogs and removed the cats. Owner retrieved dogs, paid impound fees and received 12 citations.
12:31 p.m. - Iowa Park VFD dispatched to the 700 block of W. Cornelia for smoke coming from the back of the residence. Fire department advised it was smoke coming from an outlet. Reporting party contacted an electrician.
12:50 p.m. - Reporting party advised someone stole a 12-foot ladder from her property in the 200 block of W. Jefferson. 3:23 p.m. - Reporting party requested to speak with an officer about a job she is supposed to be getting, but it’s starting to seem like a scam. Officer spoke to reporting party and advised her of her options.
11:20 p.m. - Reporting party advised someone banging on her glass storm door in the 1300 block of N. Fourth, twice and she doesn’t see anyone. Requested officers check the area. Officers checked, but unable to locate anyone.
Sunday, July 24
12:09 a.m. - Report of a water leak in the 600 block of W. Clara. Officer checked the area and city on call water crew contacted and responded. Emergency repair.
10:43 a.m. - Reporting party in the 1000 block of Mary Dr. advised of a car alarm that has been going off since 4 a.m. and she doesn’t know what to do. Officers responded and located the owner.
2:34 p.m. - Reporting party requested to speak with an officer about a situation regarding her son and ex-husband saying he doesn’t need to listen to his mom during her visitation hours. Mom wanted her ex to come pick her son up. Officer spoke with reporting party.
11 p.m. - Reporting party requested officer respond to the 400 block of W. Highway to escort a couple off the property that “looked to possibly be on drugs” that tried to steal their tip jar. Officers responded and advised a 37-year-old male in custody that has two local warrants for driving with expired license and no liability insurance. Subject was released with a summons to appear in court.
9:16 p.m. - Reporting party requested a welfare check for a possible disturbance for her mother in the 700 block of W. Clara. Reporting party stated her father is really drunk and while on the phone with her mom he grabbed the phone and threw and broke it. Daughter is concerned he is hurting her. Officers responded and gave the male subject a courtesy ride to E. Jefferson. Parties separated.
11:52 p.m. - Report of a verbal disturbance in the 100 block of Hawthron. Officers responded and advised verbal only, subjects separated for the night.
Monday, June 25 10:50 a.m. - Reporting party advised she received a phone call from someone who claimed she owed a debt and demanding money. Officer spoke with reporting party and advised her of her options.
1:20 p.m. - Reporting party requested to speak with an officer concerning donations for her custody battle. Officer spoke with reporting party and advised her of her options.
2 p.m. - Reporting party requested an officer respond to the 400 block of E. Cash for people driving through the construction barricades. Officer responded.
