Elga Ann Denny

Elga Ann Denny, 88, of Iowa Park, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Iowa Park.

Services will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion in Iowa Park.  Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Pehl, First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dutton Funeral Home.

Elga Ann was born on November 26, 1933, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Elgin and Mary (George) Denny.  Her grandparents were S.L. and Bonnie (Perry) Denny and J.N. and Deamy (Hales) George.

She spent most of her life in Wichita County with the exception of four years when she and her parents lived in Friona, Texas.

Elga Ann attended school in Iowa Park and Friona and graduated from W.F. George High

School in Iowa Park in 1951.  She graduated from Texas Wesleyan College (now University) in 1955 and the University of Oklahoma in 1977.

In 1956 she began a career in Civil Service at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls.  She retired in 1988.  Elga Ann was a longtime member of the Iowa Park First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her cousins:  Jimmie Parmer of Vernon, Texas; James Owens of Iowa Park; Gary Beadle of Mineral Wells, Texas; Jo Woolfolk of Memphis, Tennessee; and Alan Beadle of Calera, Oklahoma.
