Bobby Wayne Frazier
Sixty five years ago, a young, handsome mild mannered 17 year old crew cut teenager , Bobby, met and won the heart of another 17 year old — the love of his life —a beautiful high spirited Cherokee girl, Pat . And a few months later , September 1, 1956, they married and began a wonderful journey of life fully lived for each other.
Bobby never met a stranger . It was contagious to be around his happy personality as he had such a zest for life. He loved animals and started racing horses for Wilburn Bedford and Allen Kean.
He loved his 1954 Yellow Ford and driving around with his great smile, crew cut and Pat by his side, they were perfect examples of the good simple life in the 50’s..
He early developed a unique desire to learn all he could about guns: pistols, rifles, ammunition and became an expert advisor to others at gun shows.
With the birth of his first two daughters, Kathy and Sandy, he and Pat were such young proud parents. They moved to Illinois where other family lived and worked in a manufacturing plant— National Lock. Then with the next move to Pomona, CA, they were overjoyed with the birth of a son, Steven. But you couldn’t take “ the Texas country” out of Bob and his family, so they moved back to Texas.
Bob loved everything about Texas, hunting, fishing, and he loved working in the oil fields.
The rest of his life—he worked for Bobby Fox for many years and learned early the great value of “hard work helps produce such a great asset - character.” Even though he worked many years and retired from Bridwell Oil, he never stopped working in the oil business. He became an independent oil producer.
Bobby was such a caring, giving, hard worker at whatever he did. His love for family was further expressed in the lives of his two young nephews, Pat’s brothers - Jerry and Jimmy. He nurtured and helped train these two young boys about life along with their other uncles. When Pat’s mother, Gracie Lee, suffered from a broken hip and wrist, he and Pat took her Mom to live with them six weeks while she was receiving therapy… but she always said, it was “ Bobby’s homemade biscuits and gravy” that restored her to health!! And their hospitality continued many Thanksgivings and Christmases to some wonderful feasts at Bob and Pats.
Bobby taught his three children and most grandchildren to saddle and ride a horse; shoot a gun, fish, water ski, ride a motorcycle, drive a stick shift pickup with 4-speed in the floor, drive a car, bail hay, mow grass, work in the garden, and raise calves, pigs, chickens and lambs. He made the best sugar toast. He loved to talk, and always had a LONG colorful story to tell you about his life.
Some of his last comments were “I’ve lived longer than I thought I would. I’ve had a great life.” And he will be greatly missed by all his big family .
Bobby was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Patsy Lorene Lee, on February 19, 2021. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Eudell and Mary Frazier; his brothers Gerald , Jimmy and Danny Frazier. He is survived by his children Kathy Arledge( Scott), Sandra Boyle (Joe), and Steven Frazier (Trenda); ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, many relatives and friends.
