Marlene Witzel McPherson

Marlene Witzel McPherson, 89, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26.

Marlene was born on March 24, 1931, in Oklahoma City, OK., to Jake and Clara Mae Witzel. She spent her early years in Muskogee, OK. The family moved to Lawton, OK., in 1941 where she graduated from Lawton High School and Cameron College. She was a lifelong member of the Baptist Church. She was owner of Marlene’s Hallmark for over 20 years and was active in her church serving as church librarian, Sunday school teacher, girl’s auxiliary leader and volunteer at the Clothes Closet. She enjoyed sewing and made most of the clothes her children wore growing up.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Jake and Clara Ma Witzel; and two sisters, Delores Horton and Catherine Dunn.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph McPherson of Iowa Park; two daughters, Zoe Ann Roesenquest of Iowa Park, and Peggy Hopper of Waxahachie, Tx.; a son, Jacob Roy McPherson of Honolulu, HI.; sister, Pat Miller, of Lawton, Ok.; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
