Richard Gracy Mason

Richard Grady Mason, 79, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2,

A memorial service was held Monday at The First Baptist Church of Kaufman.

Richard was born on Jan. 16, 1941, to Odus and Estelle Mason in Wichita Falls. He built his career in sales in the mining and tire industries. He received a Salesman of the Year award in Dallas. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and establish his own business, KanTex Manufacturing, that sold Outdoor and Sporting Goods, in Kaufman.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Odus Mason; mother, Estelle Mason; and sister, Lahoma Greenwood.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Phyllis Mason of Kaufman; sons, Ron Mason of Farmington, N.M., J. Mason of Kaufman; daughter, Terri Vance of Mabank; his brother, John Mason from Wichita Falls; sisters, Movelda Patterson from Iowa Park, Wanda Hall of Wichita Falls; and Nelda Wilbanks of Florida; five grandchildren: and three great-grandchildren.
