Ira R. (Dick) Bennett
Ira R. “Dick” Bennett passed away Friday, April 17, in Wichita Falls.
Born March 28, 1938 in Franksvlle, Iowa to Earl Bennett and Vera Monahan, he was one of 11 children.
After graduating high school in 1955, he joined the military where he served for 10 1/2 years. He worked at Cryovac for 31 years, starting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and moved to Iowa Park to help with setting up the Cryovac plant in 1974. He served as superinentdent in various departments while at Cryovac.
He was married 61 years to his wife, Pat, who survives him, along with three children: Shelley Cox of Holliday, Earl of Iowa Park and Jody and wife Debra of Wichita Falls. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kami Sellers, Randall Sellers and wife Miriam, Clayton and Raden Cox, Heather McCloud and husband Cameron, Christopher, Brent and Cory Bennett; six great-grandchildren, Joy Sellers, Evan and Zeagen Baber, Ryatt and Gracelyn Cox and Harper McCloud; one great-great-grandson Brennyn White; two sisters, Charlotte Olsen and Joan Alexander; four brothers-in-law, Jack Mulholland (Sharon), George Mulholland (Jan), Mike Mulholland and Dick Mulholland (Linda); six sisters-in-law, Gail Heaton, Barb Stahle (Rick) Connie Vasquez, Betty Mayo (Tim), Sharon Squires (Marty), and Gerie Blazek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick was an avid golfer and fisherman, He will be missed.
There will be no services as per his wishes.
