Wallace R. Hobbs

Wallace R. Hobbs, 91, of Iowa Park, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

      Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Park. A visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Highland Cemetery of Iowa Park.

     Wallace was born on August 17, 1928 in Wichita County, near Iowa Park, to James Watt and Myrtle Bivens Hobbs.  He married Julia (Judy) Stewart on May 24, 1956 in Frederick Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 7, 1999. . He also was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother and his parents: James Watt and Myrtle Hobbs. He was a retired truck driver and warehouse manager, for White’s Auto Stores and was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved to go to blue grass festivals and loved country music, loved travelling, family, and was able to live by himself until recently with the help of his friend and guardian angel, Sharon Bata. He enjoyed going to the Friendly Door, playing dominos and exercising with his friends.

     Survivors include his children: Melba Clark of Oklahoma City and Brenda Murray and husband Chesley, both of Mcloud, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Chesley G. Murray and wife Analicia, Mark A. Murray and wife Amy, and Shawn Clark; five great-grandchildren: Tristan, Karmen, Gracie Ann, Chesley D. and Austin Rae; sisters: Beverly A Noel and Gladys Shawver of Iowa Park; and many nieces and nephews.

     The family asked that donations be made to Friendly Door or Hospice of Wichita Falls, in lieu of flowers.
