Robert Sterling Browning
Robert Sterling Browning 89, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away December 22, 2019 at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. He was born on August 23, 1930 in Frost, Texas to the late Corbia Daniel Browning and Harriet Catherine Price Browning. He was raised in Frost and Childress, Texas where he attended Samnorwood Schools. Robert joined the United States Army, serving from 1951 to 1956 during the Korean War. He married Shirley W. Landrum Browning in 1968 and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2012. Robert was in the trucking business for 64 years and from 1981 to 2016 he owned and operated Sterling Browning Trucking. He married Shirley Maudeane Davis on January 13, 2018 in Madill, Oklahoma. Robert was a member Hilltop Baptist Church and he enjoyed truck driving, visiting with anyone and loved his grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Shirley Browning, Madill, Oklahoma; children, John Landrum and wife Hilary, Red Oak, Texas; Perry Landrum, Jena, Louisiana; Kevin Landrum and wife Tammy, Enid, Oklahoma; Step-Daughter, Sharee’ Marshall, Burleson, Texas; Grandchildren, Bobby Landrum, April Stanley, Angela Martin, Matt Landrum, and Amanda Landrum; Great Grandchildren, Rylee Landrum, Emilee Landrum, Stella Stanley, Alivia Stanley and Reagan Stanley; and one sister, Iva Dean Phillips, Memphis, Texas.
Pallbearers for the funeral service will be Bobby Landrum, Matt Landrum, Bobby Stanley, Dylan Martin, Conner Hostas, and Derrick Hostas. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Landrum, Perry Landrum, Kevin Landrum, Randy Phillips, Charles Phillips, Gordon Maddox.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas with funeral services on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10 AM at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park, Texas.
