Infection rates in Wichita County slowing down
The rate of infection appears to be slowing down in Wichita County, with only two new positive cases reported this week, one from Iowa Park which brings the number of positive cases in Wichita County to 64.
Last week, the Leader reported that of the cases reported in Wichita County, Iowa Park was home to 22 of those. After this week the number rose to 23 cases in Iowa Park, with a total of 192 people tested here.
There is good news, however. The number of recovered patients has risen to 45, while 17 are recovering at home. At present, there are no patients recovering in the hospital.
The death count for the county remains at two.
The Wichita County Public Health Unit reminds local residents to remain vigilant and continue to practice social distancing and stay home.
Of the 2,085 people tested thus far in Wichita County, 1,968 tests have returned as negative and 53test results are still pending.

Case 63
The patient is between the ages of 30 - 39 and is currently in isolation at home recovering. This is a community spread case.
Case 64
The patient is 50 - 59 and is currently at home in isolation recovering. The patient is a contact to a previous case.
