Rita Chaffee Cogdell was the youngest of five children and the only child in her family to be born in a hospital. She was actually the very first baby born in the old Electra Hospital on May 12, 1927 in Electra, Texas. She gained her angel wings and walked through Heaven’s gates on April 19, 2019 at the young age of 91. Always the loving mother and homemaker, she loved spending time with her family, sewing and reading a good book. Rita spent her days working cross words and was always up for a good card game, but her favorite pastime was enjoying ice cream, cookies, and anything chocolate.

Janet Perry, 92, passed away Thursday, April 18, in Wichita Falls. 

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at the Holliday Cemetery with Pastor Tim Franks, Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park, officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at Dutton Funeral Home.

Janet was born Aug. 5, 1926, to Harvey and Ruby (Coombes) Green. She and Roy Lee Perry were married Sept. 30, 1943, in Holliday. She worked as a Department Manager for Gibson’s Discount Center for many years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
