Steve Johnson of Wichita Falls gained his Heavenly crown on January 29, 2022, at the age of 70 while in Plant City, FL.

The Johnson family invites you to join in the celebration of his life and legacy.

The funeral service, officiated by Dennis Neal and Mark Gentry, will be held at Faith Baptist Church (411 S Wall St, Iowa Park, TX 76367), on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. Livestream will be available at www.faithbaptistip.com

Burial services will follow at Highland Cemetery (862 Rogers Rd, Iowa Park, TX 76367).

Steve was the firstborn of seven children to the late H. C. and Jody Johnson of Iowa Park, TX, in Wheeler, TX. He played football throughout school and graduated from Iowa Park High School, class of 1969.

In 1985 he met the love of his life, Glenda Johnson, and married January 1, 1992, in Iowa Park, TX.

Steve was a dedicated father to Micheal Johnson (wife Tomi) of Cedar Park, TX; Chris Johnson (wife Monaca) of Haslet, TX; Melanie Self, and David Curtis of Wichita Falls.

Steve was a proud “Papoo” to ten grandchildren, who were the light and joy of his life: Alex Johnson, Natalie Curtis, Cydney Johnson, Coral Graves (husband Tyler), Garrett Johnson, Payton Johnson, Skyler Curtis, Madison Self, Colby Johnson, and Ryder Curtis. Two great-grandchildren were born within the past seven months: Paisleigh Vaughn and Brayden Huerta.

Most recently, Steve has been working for Trams R Us after retiring from VCS Homes and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, country and western dancing, camping with family and close friends that he considered extended family. With his experience, wisdom, talents, and humor, Steve always found the time to pick up the phone or arrive upon request to help anyone. He was a devout Christian and lived his life as an example. Lives are changed forever for those that knew and loved this great man.

Steve is also survived by his beloved siblings: Cindy Tracey (husband Mike) of Nocona, TX; Rhonda Houston of Nevada, IA; Tommy Johnson (wife Linda) of Wichita Falls; Terry Johnson (wife Caren) of Mansfield, TX; Tessy Cole (husband John) of Iowa Park; Robert Johnson (wife April) of Iowa Park; Sister-in-law, Pam Martin (husband Johnny) of Seymour, TX, including his fourteen nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to:
