Big weekend with IPHS Homecoming 2017

Homecoming activities will kick off this evening and conclude Saturday.

Bonfire

This evening the Homecoming pep rally will start at 8 p.m. in the high school gym, followed by a bonfire will kickoff homecoming activities.

Friday Free Lunch

The Community Chow Down with free hamburgers and hot dogs, bottled water, and chips, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow in the 100 block of East Cash.

The event is sponsored by S5! Manufacturing, and the City of Iowa Park employees are cooking.

Parade at 3 p.m.

The homecoming parade carrying out the theme of Disney/Piaxer will start at 3 p.m. tomorrow downtown Iowa Park.

The parade will start in the area of East Cash and Bond Streets, proceed west on Cash to Yosemite, north on Yosemite and east on Park, then a u-turn at Park and Wall Streets, west on Park and north on Yosemite to Bank Street. Then east on Bank Street back to the starting point.

Homecoming Game

The game between the Iowa Park Hawks and Holliday kicks off at 7:30 p.m.

Friendly Door Breakfast

Friendly Door Senior Citizen’s Center, 810 North Third, will serve breakfast from 6:30 till 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The cost for the All You Can Eat Homecoming Breakfast is $8.

The menu will include pancakes, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, orange juice and milk.

Whoop-T-Do

8:30 a.m. - Registration for the nnual Dutton Turtle Trot Race - There will be three age divisions, and an overall champion as well as the best dressed competition.

9 a.m. - Whoop-T-Do Vendors open.

Iowa Park Middle School and High School Band performance.

9:15 a.m. - Dutton Funeral Home Turtle Trot Race starts.

10 a.m. - Iowa Park Middle School and High School Choir -in the tent in City Park.

11 a.m. - Iowa Park Pep Squad.

11:15 a.m. - Iowa Park Top of Texas Cheerleaders.

11:30 a.m. - Defining Moments Dance Studio.

An alumni luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m. at the high school. The cost is $12 a person, to be catered by Kathy’s.

The menu will include an assortment of sandwiches, fruit bar, special desserts, and drinks.

Door prizes will be drawn for.

Reservations for the luncheon are now being accepted.
