Brad Wynn was the winner in Saturday’s runoff election, defeating Carmen Lozipone for Place 2 on the Iowa Park City Council. Wynn received 118 votes to 92 for Lozipone.
Lozipone was ahead in early voting with 71 votes to 66 for Wynn. On election day Wynn pulled ahead receiving 52 votes to 21 for Lozipone.
In the city election on May 7, three candidates were running for the Place 2 position on the council. None received 50 percent of the votes, which is needed to win. A runoff election was called between Wynn, with 38.36 percent of the vote and Lozipone with 32.88 percent.
Wynn will occupy the seat on the council vacated by Stephanie Wooten. He will be sworn in at Monday’s council meeting after the ballots have been canvassed.
