City will take your old tires
(05/11/17)

In an effort to reduce the number of used tires littering the community the City of Iowa Park is offering free tire disposal for residents.
Roll-off dumpsters will be provided at 101 West Cash Street, on Wall Street across from city hall through Tuesday, May 23.
Residents can place tires from their residential properties into the containers at no charge.
Only tires will be accepted and only from City of Iowa Park residents.
Used tires are not only an eyesore in residential neighborhoods, they are virtually indestructible and hold stagnant water which can become a public health hazard.
Tires are breeding grounds for mosquitoes, rats, snakes and other vermin.
Also, if they catch fire they are difficult to extinguish and produce an acrid black smoke.
Many properties in Iowa Park are littered with one or more tires providing habitat for those mosquitos which vector West Nile and Zika Viruses.
Illegal dumping may result in a fine of $50 plus court costs.
