Wichita County Livestock Show taking place
The 2017 Wichita County Livestock Show will take place today through Saturday at the J.S. Bridwell Ag Center in Wichita Falls.
According to IPHS Ag teacher Misty Eppler, 76 members of the Junior FFA and IPHS FFA program will exhibit 143 entries. Other local entries will be shown by 4-H members.
The local students showed their exhibits Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Iowa Park Stock Show in preparation for the county show. According to Eppler, some students also attended a recent showmanship clinic in Wichita Falls.
Starting at 8 a.m. today, Jan. 12, animals will be admitted to the show grounds. At 10, rabbits can be in place and begin weigh-in. All other animals should be in place by 12-noon.
Weigh-in for swine, sheep, goats, cattle, plus chicken/turkey band check will start at 1 p.m.
The Rabbit Show starts at 1, followed by the Turkey Show, and then concluding with the Broiler Show.
The Meat Goat Show will start at 9 a.m. tomorrow, followed by the Breeding Doe Show, and the Dairy Doe Show.
The Market Sheep Show starts at 11 a.m., followed by the Breeding Sheep Show.
At 2 p.m., the Breeding Swine Show starts, followed by the Market Swine Show.
The Market Steer Show starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, followed by the Heifer Show. The Horse Show will start at 11.
The annual Premium Sale will start at 7 p.m.
